Urgent response teams sent to Vinh Phuc for coronavirus fight

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has instructed to send urgent response teams to the northern province of Vinh Phuc for the help to fight against coronavirus.

On Thursday afternoon, two urgent response teams came to Binh Xuyen District for the work. One helps with the sterilisation and the other specialises in the treatment and infection control.

Vinh Phuc accounts for up to seven among the total number of 12 coronavirus cases in Vietnam. All of the seven are in Binh Xuyen District. Among those, four were infected after returning home from Wuhan City and the remainder are affected by the virus from these four people.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tuan Minh, director of Binh Xuyen District’s Health Department, one among the patients is being treated at the district Medical Centre.

The sterilisation has been intensified, including at houses of the coronavirus patients and suspected ones.

Prof., Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Head of the Health Ministry's Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, has asked the urgent response team of Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi to hold training courses for Vinh Phuc General Hospital and Binh Xuyen District’s Health Department in the epidemic prevention and control.

The provincial Department of Health has been required to ensure medical equipment and medicines for the treatment.

Up to 30 cities and provinces in Vietnam have decided to allow local students to stay at home until February 16 for the disease prevention.
