People warned not to travel through flooded roads in Quang Binh, Ha Tinh

The Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department have warned people not to use flooded roads in the central province of Quang Binh and Ha Tinh.

According to the department, the water level in rivers in Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces are sharply rising. Many sections on National Highway 1A and Ho Chi Minh Road have been flooded by one metre, particularly those in the towns of Dong Hoi and Ba Dong and the districts of Le Thuy, Bo Trach and Quang Ninh being most seriously affected.

Lots of houses in Dong Hoi City have been put under water by two metres, particularly on Tran Quang Khai, Le Loi, Huu Nghi and Nguyen Huu Canh streets.

Some sections of National Highway 1A near Quan Hau Bridge in Quang Ninh District have faced serious congestion due to being inundated. Warning signs have been set up there.

Early this morning, October 19, a coach which transported 18 people was swept away near Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province, by the flooding. However, the people were saved by traffic police officers on duty there.
