Central region students allowed to stay home as Storm Molave approaches
Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh schools have allowed students to stay home to avoid Storm Molave which will make landfall in Vietnam tonight, October 27.
Ho Quoc Dung, chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee also announced that students are allowed to stay home from October 27 until further notice.
"Schools must be pro-active in protecting their property ahead of the storm to prevent fatalities and damage to the schools," he said.
Dao Duc Tuan, head of Binh Dinh Department of Education and Training said they had issued directives to schools and asked communal and wards people's committees as well as local departments of education to take school supplies and equipment to higher ground to avoid flooding.
According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, Storm Molave is moving very fast across the East Sea. On October 27 to 28, it will badly affect provinces in the central region and south central coast. The waves will be six to seven metres high.
