Three Covid-19 treatment hospitals to be built in Hai Duong

Vietnam will build three field hospitals in the northern province of Hai Duong which is facing a Covid-19 outbreak.

The Ministry of Health on Thursday held an urgent online meeting with the health departments of and a number of hospitals in Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces amid the sharp rise in Covid-19 patients. 

 

Hai Duong Province is facing the Covid-19 outbreak.


At the event, the minister asked concerned agencies to set up three Covid-19 treatment hospitals in Hai Duong where 73 new locally-infected Covid-19 patients were reported over the past two days. He also instructed the medical equipment oversupply for the three hospitals.

Under the minister’s request, the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases is responsible for the establishment of the first field hospital at the Chi Linh Medical Centre in Chi Linh City. This hospital will have an intensive care unit with modern facilities.

The second field hospital will be built by Bach Mai Hospital at Hai Duong Medical Technical University.

Meanwhile, the third one will be located at the Hai Duong sports stadium, getting the equipment used for a similar hospital built at the central city of Danang Tien Son Sports Centre when the city was affected by a Covid-19 outbreak in July and August last year.

According to Long, medical staff from Danang who had experience in dealing with the city’s Covid-19 outbreak in 2020 will come to Hai Duong for support. Hai Duong needs to zone vulnerable areas and provide Covid-19 tests widely.
