Northern region forecasted to see first strong cold spell soon

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to have the first strong cold snap next week, according to Tran Quang Nang, head of the National Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecasting’s Weather Forecast Department.

The cold front would affect northern localities between October 10-11. This weather would cause a tropical depression which is likely to appear in the East Sea next week to be more complicated, Nang said,

The northern region would experience two to three cold spells this month with an average temperature of 25 degrees centigrade during the daytime.

He added that the northern region’s winter this year would be colder than last year. The severe cold weather would occur before December 25.

Between October 5-10, central localities would have rains and strong winds with thunderbolts. The same weather would happen in many Central Highlands and southern localities in the afternoon and evening during this time.

Hanoi would see rain on October 3-11, particularly heavy rain on the evening of October 4-6.
