Houses hit by Bac Ninh riverbank erosion demolished
Authorities of Bac Ninh City in the northern province of Bac Ninh have started demolishing 10 houses affected by erosion by the Cau River.
Seven houses in Van An Ward suffered from subsidence and three others were at high risk of the same problem.
The demolition is scheduled to be completed within three days.
Erosion has occurred on the banks of the Cau River since mid-March.

Van An People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Thanh Ngan said it was urgent work to curb the erosion.
Nguyen Thi Thao whose house was demolished said she supported the work to help minimise the erosion.
The provincial people’s committee have proposed compensation for the affected households and the relocation of vulnerable people.
The demolition is scheduled to be completed within three days.
