Authorities in the central province of Quang Binh are searching for 11 fishermen who are missing after three fishing boats capsized and one other went missing due to strong winds.


Authorities in the central province of Quang Binh are searching for 11 fishermen who have gone missing after three fishing boats capsized and one other went missing.


According to the Quang Binh Provincial Fisheries Agency, fishing vessel QB 92669-TS, owned by Nguyen Duc Trung and with seven crew, sank on May 2. A nearby fishing vessel rescued one person, but six remain missing.

Fishing vessel QB 98614 - TS, owned by Phan Thanh Hung, lost contact with the mainland on May 3. Rescue forces continue searching for the boat, which has five crew members on board.

While fishing vessel QB 98768 –TS, owned by Le Van Chien sank with all five crew were rescued, also on May 3. The rescued fishermen are now in stable health condition.

Pham Van Trung's fishing boat, QB 93712-TS, also sank on the evening of May 3. Fortunately, another vessel nearby rescued all seven crew members.

The agency said all four fishing vessels faced problems due to strong winds.
