Despite the ban imposed by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee from April 25, boat tours on Tuyen Lam Lake have not only persisted but also thrived, drawing in a significant number of visitors, particularly during the recent Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day holidays.

Tourism activities have been organised on the lake for the past 20 years by the Tuyen Lam Services Collective.

Although the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourism Area Management Board proposed collecting fees from tourism services, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said they needed to gather opinions and make an assessment based on the views of concerned departments before organising a tender for service providers.

The committee then banned tourism services on the lake from April 25.

Tuyen Lam Lake is located six kilometres south of Dalat City and is a famous tourist destination.

The Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourism Area has been named an outstanding tourism area in Asia-Pacific. Tuyen Lam Lake was the first Vietnamese site to receive the title.
