Quang Tri’s first solar energy plant inaugurated
The first VND1.12 trillion (USD52 million) solar energy plant in the central province of Quang Tri has been inaugurated.
The project invested by Licogi 13 JSC is located at Gio Thanh Commune, Gio Linh District.
The inaugurating ceremony of the plant on June 30
The launch ceremony of the plant on June 30 saw the participation of vice chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong.
The 60-hectare plant has a capacity of 49.5 MWp, generating 67.63 million kWh of electricity each year.
Chairman of Quang Tri Province People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh said the province aimed to build solar power plants on unproductive areas.
Three solar power projects are underway in Quang Tri with a combined capacity of nearly 150 MW. Four more, with total capacity of 200MW are pending approval from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
