Ninh Thuan tightens control over tourism projects
The Department of Planning and Investment of the southern central province of Ninh Thuan wants to inspect major tourism projects behind schedule.
According to the Ninh Thuan Department of Planning and Investment, provincial authorities have licensed 56 tourism projects with a total investment of VND52.47 trillion (USD2.14 billion). Among those, 23 have been put into operation, 20 others are underway, and 13 others are completing investment procedures.
The department has recommended the suspension of the Aminia-Ninh Chu Resort and Ninh Chu Sailing Bay projects due to their slow pace.
Smart Asgard Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the investor of the vineyard and winery project, has also been urged to prove their financial capacity to continue the project. Despite the extension to late 2023, the project has not yet been finished.

Besides, the department has asked provincial authorities to inspect Ho Ba Be and Hon Do eco-tourist site projects.
Ninh Thuan plans to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector by raising both the scale and quality of services.
The locality is striving to attract 3.50 million visitors and earn VND2.9 trillion (USD118.3 million) in tourism revenue by 2025.
