National flag in Lung Cu

In brilliant sunshine, the national flag waves on the peak of Lung Cu mountain, symbolising the will and pride of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

The national flag tower is on the top of 1,700m high Lung Cu Mountain, in Dong Van district in the northeastern province of Ha Giang

The new flag tower, built in 2010, is 29.5m tall, which is 10 metres taller than the old flag tower. 283 steps lead up to the tower

At the base of the flag tower are six reliefs, portraying the daily lives of ethnic minoty groups in the Dong Van Stone Plateau

National flag is 9m long, 6m wide, 54 square metres, symbolising the country\'s 54 ethnic groups

The flag tower represents the strength, pride and indomitable will of the Vietnamese nation over the thousands of years of its construction and defense

The Lung Cu flag tower was completed on September 25, 2010 after seven months under construction
