Hanoi marks 85th year of Communist Party

Hanoi's streets are aflutter with red flags and bedecked with decorations in the run-up to the 85th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) today (February 3).

National flags and the Party flag mingle with peach blossoms set out to mark the upcoming Tet holiday on Hanoi streets, and government buildings and public spaces are sporting decorations to mark the foundation of the Party in 1930, with events such as a photographic exhibition and the showcasing of houses associated with the foundation on show to the public.

An exhibition on the 85-year operation of the CPV is being held at No. 45, Trang Tien Street, featuring 100 photos of landmarks of the CPV
