The Green Ladder, the latest work from architect Vo Trong Nghia, is being displayed at the annual architectural pavilion exhibition of the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation in Australia.

The theme this year is Fugitive Structures. The Green Ladder was initially installed and completed in January. It was displayed for three months outside of the State Library of Queensland as part of the inaugural Asia Pacific Architecture Forum before it was moved to the Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation.

The Green Ladder is a key project for this year programme. The bamboo construction looks like a huge scaffold with flowers and plants put on the grid.

Bamboo is a significant symbol in Vietnamese culture and is considered the green steel of the 21st century. Nghia said he wanted to bring nature back to the city. The Green Ladder aims to better connect people with the nature as well as raising awareness about green spaces in cities.

Green Ladder will be displayed at Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation in Paddington from July 7 to December 10.
