The northern port city of Hai Phong has released another 65 pairs of swans into a local river to mark the city’s 65th Liberation Day and President Ho Chi Minh’s 130th birthday.

The swans, donated by 23 businesses, were released into Tam Bac River in Hong Bang District on Monday.

Many people flocked to the river to see the birds.

At the releasing ceremony on May 18, district authorities called on people to protect the city’s environment, including the area around the river.

Earlier, the district released the 20 first pairs of swans on May 9, 2019 to mark the completion of a Tam Bac River regeneration project. After that, another 15 pairs were released into the river on June 21, 2019.
