>> Sapa simmers with beauty in freezing weather

O Quy Ho, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam, was covered with ice and snow after two chilly days and temperatures of just one degree Celsius.

The 2,070-metre pass in Sapa Town, northern Lao Cai Province, resembles a European land during winter.

According to the provincial Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, ice has appeared in O Quy Ho Mountain Pass and mountainous areas of over 2,000 metres high in Sapa, similar to the historic cold spell in 2008, which caused huge losses for local agricultural production.

However, snow and ice and tropical sleet in Sapa are always special tourism draws as the sight isn’t an annual one and the atmosphere is special. Therefore, hundreds of visitors from other cities and provinces have rushed to O Quy Ho to enjoy the beauty of ice and snow as well as to snap photos.

DTiNews shares photos of very fascinating scenery on O Quy Ho Mountain Pass from the early morning of January 12.
