More than 5,000 workers at Dalat Hasfarm are taking care of 10 million flower branches and 1.6 flower pots for the Tet season.

A worker, Doan Trang, said that this is their busiest time of year when demand for flowers and bonsai trees is very high.



"We’re working hard to bring the most beautiful flowers to the market," she said. "Ho Chi Minh City is the biggest market which usually buys between 40-50 percent of our products. As China has closed its borders with Vietnam, there will be a flower shortage in the local market and we are trying to take this opportunity to sell more flowers."



Trang added that in 2021, her company had to clear out millions of flower branches because they had been unable to sell them during the social distance period. They had to switch to growing vegetables instead.

According to authorities in Dalat, the city has 745 hectares of flowers and bonsai trees. The flowers are tended by Dutch technology.
