According to the provincial people’s committee, Bai Tho Mountain was closed from November 2, 2017, following a fire. However, many visitors have climbed to the mountain peak to see Ha Long Bay.

Ha Long has around 200 beaches, but only the beach on Ti Top Island is open to visitors to swim. Therefore, travellers on all four tours on Ha Long Bay who want to swim at Ti Top have to buy tickets for the whole route.
Vung Vieng and Cua Van fishing villages are home to nice beaches, but people are not allowed to swim there.
Opening more beaches in Ha Long has been recommended by travel firms many times, but this has remained the same.
On this occasion, Quang Ninh authorities have also asked to launch more new tourism products, including dragon boat races, tours to link Ha Long and Bai Tu Long bays and tours to connect Ha Long Bay and Ba Mun National Park.
Under the committee’s requirement, it is also necessary to mull over the opening of express boat service from Bai Tu Long Bay to Ha Long International Cruise Port and tours to Van Gieng, Soi Dau and Van Ruoi beaches and Nem Island.
