The northern province of Quang Ninh will open more new destinations on Bai Tu Long Bay for tourists.

The new sites which are Tay Hoi, Tra Ngoc, Cai Lim, Ba Mun and Ban Sen islands will help diversify tourism products in the city. Visitors can choose Cai Rong or Ao Tien ports in Van Don Districts to travel to these places.

However, the proposal to add Tra Ban, Cai De and Cai Lim areas in Van Don District to the province’s list of new tourist spots is still being considered.

The provincial Department of Tourism has been assigned to co-operate with agencies to survey the new sites to ensure they can receive travellers from April.

According to the Quang Ninh Department of Transport, there are two ports and seven wharves. By late this month, Van Don will put Ao Tien Port into operation. It has five wharves which can receive 300-seat boats. It is also large enough to accommodate 150 tourist boats.

Bai Tu Long Bay, which stretches the cities of Ha Long and Cam Pha and Van Don District, is home to hundreds of pristine islands. People live on many islands on the bay. So, coming here, visitors will have a chance to experience local life.

Quang Ninh has set a target to welcome 15.5 million tourists by 2025, including at least five million foreigners. The figure is expected to rise to 24.5 million visitors, including 8.6 million foreigners, by 2030.

Between 2025 and 2030, the provincial tourism sector expects to obtain an annual growth rate of 10-11 percent.
