The street is open every day from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm in summer and from 5:30 pm to 9 pm in winter.

A range of events such as music shows, folk games, tea ceremonies and sports activities will be held on the street.

According to Nguyen Van Lanh, vice chairman of Hoi An People’s Committee, pedestrian areas are expected to bring more colour to the local tourism sector.

From May 15, Hoi An started collecting entry fees to the old town from tour groups. The fees are VND120,000 (USD5.12) for foreign tourists and VND80,000 for Vietnamese people.

The city has arranged 12 stalls at Thanh Ha Parking Lot and two others at 332 Ly Thuong Kiet Street and Long Tuyen Pagoda to sell entry tickets to visitors. Signage on how to buy tickets is installed across the city.

Travellers can take electric vehicles from these three parking lots with the fees of VND10,000 per person for a distance of less than three kilometres. Each trip transports a maxim of five people.
