Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has urged the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and relevant agencies to train 600,000 rural labourers this year.

To implement this task, MoLISA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) will set targets and requirements for an effective rural labour training project to be delivered to all provinces and cities.

The deputy PM asked localities to finish their plans for developing human resources in the first quarter of this year.

He also requested that provinces and relevant agencies complete and expand effective pilot models and develop upgraded models for vocational training in coordination with craft villages, commercial farming zones and new rural areas to utilize the country’s abundant human resources and locally available materials. Such projects could include cultivating mushrooms, dragon fruit, and high-yield rice or making bamboo products.

The Ministries of Education and Training; Industry and Trade; Construction; Transport; and National Defence, as well as other agencies and organizations, must work together with MOLISA to develop both agricultural and non-agricultural vocational training programmes focused on raising workers’ awareness about efficient production and outlets for the products.
