The Vietnam-Australia Tourism and Hospitality Education and Training Showcase 2019 will offer a platform for Australian and Vietnamese institutions and business organisations to exchange expertise and build innovative partnerships.
The event, which will be held on April 3 in Hanoi and on April 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, is expected to gather representatives of nine leading Australian institutions in tourism and hospitality to Vietnam.
The program combines a series of activities, including governmental meetings to foster bilateral relationship between the two countries, a panel discussion for both Vietnamese and Australian organisations to exchange expertise and explore partnership, a showcase and one-on-one business matching sessions.
Australian Senior Trade Commissioner, Yvonne Chan, said that they would share with Vietnam their world-class expertise/excellence in education and training of high-quality human resources in tourism and hospitality for the fast but sustainable growth of Vietnam’s tourism.
According to UN World Tourism Organization, in 2017 Vietnam ranked in the world’s top 20 fastest growing travel destinations. By 2025, the industry aims to contribute 10 per cent of GDP and generate income for six million people. To reach this target, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the tourism sector needs nearly 40,000 more labourers every year, particularly skilled workers and qualified professionals.
