All cities and provinces in Vietnam have re-opened their schools as the country has basically controlled the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today, May 4, 63 localities nationwide allowed their secondary and high school students to return school after the three-month break because of Covid-19, including Hanoi and HCM City.

However, schools have assembled their students in a scattered manner according to grades. For instance, in HCM City, today, only the 9th and 12th graders were permitted to resume school.

Meanwhile, the 4th, 5th and the remaining grades of secondary schools will come back from May 8. Students of grades 1, 2 and 3 are slated to return to school from May 11.

Many localities across the country, including Hanoi, have agreed on reopening primary schools from May 11.

Earlier, cities and provinces of low-risk infection of the virus such as Tuyen Quang, Vinh Long and Son La re-opened their schools from April 27.

Under the Ministry of Education and Training’s instructions, schools have to conform to the pandemic prevention regulations strictly.

Schools are asked to sterilise sites, provide hand wash and temperature checks for students, leave windows open and minimise the use of air conditioners.

Students have to wear a mask at school and ensure the distance of 1.5 metres from one another.

In many cases, classes are needed to be divided to ensure that each does not have more than 20 students.
