According to the minister, non-state nursery schools have been hard hit by Covid-19. Vietnam is home to around 9,000 private nursery schools employing 90,500 people.

Due to the pandemic, many of them have had to close, forcing many staff to find other work. This has also resulted in the shortage of schools, affecting around 1.2 million children.

The ministry has considered the proposal of VND800 billion to the government for assisting the schools.

At the session, many delegates supported the minister’s opinion. They said that localities need to assess the difficulties of private education facilities. The delegates also said it was important to have more suitable salary policies for teachers, especially those at nursery schools.
