Foreigners help clean up Danang
A group of dozens of people, including many foreigners, volunteer to collect rubbish in Danang every Saturday.
The team Trash Hero Danang was established in September 2022 by Benjamin Lawson, an American, and his Vietnamese wife, Bui Thi Linh.
Initially, the group had only ten members, but now 50 people, including many foreigners living in Danang, help out. They share the same desire to help clean up Danang.
They receive gloves, rubbish bags, and picking tools every Saturday and spend hours gathering rubbish.
Nguyen Quang Hai, 36, from Danang, said he is happy to contribute to protecting Danang’s environment.
On rainy days, the group wear raincoats and continue their work.
They usually concentrate on cleaning up beaches, residential areas and under bridges.
