Fire destroys Khanh Hoa forest
A fire in the central province of Khanh Hoa’s Ninh Hoa Town has destroyed around 60 hectares of forest.
The flame broke out at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday in Ninh Son Commune.

The fire damaged 60 hectares of forest
Hundreds of people were mobilised to fight the outbreak. However, violent winds and hot weather allowed the fire to spread quickly, damaging roughly 60 hectares of forest, comprising 15 hectares of acacia and 45 hectares of sugarcane.
The blaze was brought under control at around 5 pm the same day.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Ninh Hoa Town covers 119,000 hectares, with over 70 percent mountains and forests. The locality is home to some 2,000 hectares of sugarcane but is at risk due to repeated droughts.
