The Overseas Vietnamese Association in France has raised funds for victims in the central region of Vietnam who suffered during the historic floods in early October 2010.

The association sent VND100 million (USD4,777) to flood victims later October 2010 through the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

It also launched a fund-raising programme among overseas Vietnamese in France and by the end of March 2011, it had raised EUR11,580 (USD17,114).

The sum is being used to build a house for 12-year old Tran Van Duc in Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province, and buy learning facility for three primary schools in Vu Quang, Can Loc and Thach Ha districts in the same province.
