The Republic of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) signed an agreement on June 23 to help Vietnam build and manage health insurance policies.

Under the cooperative project, Vietnam will learn to build and implement the law on health insurance and improve the leadership and management capacity of officials.

The project will also deal with existing problems in health insurance management to help set up appropriate mechanisms for health insurance in the near future.

It will also help narrow the widening gap between rich and poor and between urban and rural areas, gradually improve social welfare and the quality of life.

KIOCA Chief Representative in Vietnam, Lee Wook Heon, expressed his hope that the project will contribute to completing health insurance regulations and strengthening cooperative relations between the two countries.
