Singer Thanh Bui and rapper Apl.de.Ap, a member of The Black Eyed Peas, have been working together to help children in the South East Asia.

Apl.de.Ap has been working for education in many projects and raising funds for education in the Philippines, his home country, and the US. He also works to build music schools and libraries with modern technology in order to attract more students to music.

His story is what encouraged Thanh Bui to get involved in the promotion of music education. Thanh Bui said, "Apl.de.Ap is from disadvantage background. He became successful with The Black Eyed Peas and he returned to the Philippines to help his people." He said that he returned to Vietnam to help people here.

Apl.de.Ap arrived in HCM City on July 29 to visit the Soul Music Academy, a music school that Thanh Bui built for disadvantaged children in Tra Vinh. Thanh Bui even created a separate curriculum to train local music teachers.

Thanh Bui hopes to make music education more interesting by encouraging students to intuitively feel the music. In August, Thanh Bui will also visit Apl.de.Ap in Philippines to understand more about his work there.

Thanh Bui is cooperating with Trish Franklin, founder of Loreto Vietnam Australia Program (LVAP). The project is dedicated to the reduction of poverty through beneficial, responsive educational opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled students. Since 1997, LVAP has helped over 25,000 children.
