Thanks to the support of DTiNews’ readers, the fate of an ill baby girl named Nhan Ai is taking a positive turn.

Nhan Ai is recovering.

Born with multiple serious birth defects, Nhan Ai was abandoned by her parents over half a year ago at the age of one month. Doctors and nurses at Ho Chi Minh City’s Children Hospital 2 had since taken her under their arms and cared for her however, her fate was uncertain and unknown by most until her story was brought to light by Dan Tri/DTiNews.

Thousands of Dan Tri/DTiNews readers have sent in donations from all over the country as well as overseas in hopes that Nhan Ai will be given a chance to be saved. As of August 13, donations had reached VND 624 million (USD 32,000).

According to the latest update, Nhan Ai’s lung inflammation has not yet shown any signs of improvement. Her intestinal inflammation however, has almost been cured and the infection on her body has greatly recovered.

For a long time, Nhan Ai had to be fed intravenously. Now, after a series of treatments, the doctors have decided that she is well enough to be fed orally again.
