A mother in Hanoi is in need of help to cure her 10-year-old daughter who has a twisted spine due to various health problems.

Tran Thi Mai Anh has gone through four operations and various hospitals in the past five years but her situation has not improved. Because of her twisted spine, she cannot walk properly and constantly struggles with pain.

Anh's mother, Tran Thi Thanh Tam, said, "She was diagnosed with chest deformity after birth so the doctors put a steel bar inside her body. But when they took the bar out three years later, she couldn't walk normally. Doctors said she had myotonia disorder and set up treatment for her, but she was in pain the whole time so I took her to another hospital. She was diagnosed with femoral head necrosis."

Anh can't walk properly because of twisted spine

Anh's condition worsened and her spine twisted more. Doctors at another hospital then said this was consequences from cerebral palsy and she needed surgery as soon as possible.

Even though she was confused at different information and unclear treatments, Anh's mother is determined to cure her and continue bringing her to hospitals.

Anh's mother opened a office supply shop so she can support their daily needs, but does not know how to continue paying hospital charges. Anh's father abandoned them.

"I only wish that she could walk normally again. I'll do anything. She's more important to me than my own life," Anh's mother said.
