A baby in Ha Tinh Province suffers a serious and life-threatening skin disease, but her parents are unable to do anything for her.

Fourteen-month-old Nguyen Thi Thuy Van, has black lesions all over her body, which are steadily growing. Doctors say it's melanoma, skin cancer.

Her father, Nguyen Duc Dung, is a lowly paid labourer; her mother, Vo Thi Hue, is too sick to do hard work. They have few possessions.

"We don't have enough money to buy milk, let alone go to hospital," Hue said.

Van needs urgent, and regular, expensive treatment, but she needs exceeds state funding.
