DTiNews readers have donated USD7,230 to a young girl in in the central province of Ha Tinh who now has to take care of her younger brother and younger sister after their parents died.

Tran Thi Huyen, 18, in Nghi Xuan District's Xuan Pho Commune said that her father suddenly died in 2011, just nine days after her younger brother was born.

After her father's death, the family's financial condition became more difficult.

Besides the farming work, her mother worked for a scrap yard some kilometres from home.

Huyen and her younger sister supported her mother with house and farming work.

But Huyen’s mother died last month in a traffic accident. She is now responsible for her 14 year-old sister and her 4 year-old brother.

VND152-million donation handed over to the orphans

On August 14, a DTiNews reporter and a representative from Xuan Pho Commune came to the orphans' house to present the donation to them.

Receiving the money, Huyen expressed her thanks and gratitude to DTiNews readers.
