Malnourished little boys in need of help
A mother in Bac Giang Province is calling for help to raise two ill children and take care of her husband who is suffering from heart disease and asthma.
Hoang Thi Ngoc had to return to her parent's home after struggling to raise both ill children and husband. Her oldest child is six years old but weighs just 10kg while her second child weighs 4.5kg at 14 months old.
As her husband has heart disease and asthma, he often gets sick and is almost bed-bound. There are many times Ngoc doesn't eat anything to save money to buy medicines for her husband and children. But they can't afford to go to hospital so her husband’s condition is worsening.
He often cries out and faints but Ngoc can only bring him to the communal clinic.
"After giving birth to the second child, my health has worsened. I still need to take care of small children so I can't find work. We are struggling with daily meals," Ngoc said.
Ngoc feeds her children rice porridge for days in a row. Then there are days the children have nothing to eat because their mother needs to take care of their father and can't go out to borrow rice yet.
The family is living in a dilapidated house and have no valuable belongings.
