“Lighting Dreams of Vietnamese Children” programme launched

A programme called “Lighting Dreams of Vietnamese Children” was held in Hanoi on September 26 to raise funds for handicapped and orphans children.

In her speech, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Tong Thi Phong, sent her regards to orphans, disadvantaged children, and those living with disabilities and expressed the hope that the programme will help their dreams become true.

During the programme, children enjoyed folk games, music peformances and joined a painting contest.

More than 50 scholarships worth VND2 million each, were also presented to disabled and orphan children who excel at their studies.

The programme, hosted by Vietnam Television (VTV), the Vietnam Association in Support of Disabled People and Orphans, and the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), raised VND1.2 billion from many individuals and collectives.
