A young doctor in Thanh Hoa Province is in desperate need of financial support to help save his life as now he is in a vegetative state after an accident.

Nguyen Khac Thai, 26, from Thanh Hoa City’s Quang Thanh Ward faced an accident while bathing in the central province of Nghe An Province’s Cua Lo Town.

Thai’s father Nguyen Khac Ngo said that after graduating from the Hanoi University of Medicine in 2015 with the excellent degree, Thai studied at an intensive training course of the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics. In October 2016, he joined a voluntary campaign. When the campaign ended, the voluntary group went to Nghe An’s Province Cua Lo Town to enjoy a holiday before coming back Hanoi.

During bathing at a beach in Cua Lo Town, Thai began drowning. After being saved, he suffered from clinical death. Since then, he has been living with the vegetative state.

Two months ago, Thai was taken home for self-treatment as his family couldn’t afford the hospital fees. The only way to save him now is stem cell transplant which is too costly.

Thai’s farther is a seriously wounded soldier, while his mother is facing encephalatrophy. His relatives are also very poor, so the only hope is from the support of donors.
