Poor mother calls for help to save ailing son
A poor mother in the northern province of Hai Duong is calling for help to save her son who has been bed-ridden for nine years following a labour accident.
The mother Pham Thi Gai in Binh Giang District now takes care of his son Vu Dinh Dung who is suffering from multiple traumas following an accident.
She said that in 2008, when doing his part-time job, a wall fell on him, turning the 18-year old student with many dreams into a disabled man with injuries to his liver, spleen, kidney and hip-bone. Between 2008 and 2012, he was taken to many hospitals for the treatment for years, so, his family had to sell everything valuable to cover the treatment fees.
At present, many parts of his body have become rotten because he has been bed-ridden for many years. Due to the family’s financial difficulties, he has to stay at home, which has caused the wounds to be more serious. Every day, Dung use toilet paper for cleaning the wounds.
Doctors, however, said that if he is not taken to hospital for proper treatment, he will face the death risk due to the infection.
The mother has hired a small room in Hai Duong City which is some 20 kilometres far from their home to live and every day, she works a vendor to earn money. She also took Dung to there so that she can take care of more easily.
Meanwhile, Dung’s father who stays at home to care for his younger brother whose legs have broken due to an accident.
