The ground-breaking ceremony in Trung Son Commune

After the article about dilapidated classrooms at Trung Son Nursery School’s branch in Dong Mang Village was recently published on Dantri/DTiNews, many readers donated money to help build new classrooms through the newspaper.

The new classroom and bridge will cost VND750 million (USD34,000).

The ground-breaking ceremony saw the participation of Dantri/DTiNews Deputy editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh, Dang Tran Thanh, the donor for the construction, Ha Duc Dung, head of Yen Lap District’s Department of Education of Training as well as teachers and students from Trung Son Nursery School.

The road to Dong Mang village is very tough and the locality is often isolated when it rains heavily.

Poor pupils granted with scholarships at the ceremony

Dinh Thi Dao, headmaster of Trung Son Nursery School, said that she was very happy to know that new classrooms will be built.

According to Ha Duc Dung, head of Yen Lap District’s Department of Education and Training, Dong Mang classrooms have received just 42 out of the total 80 pupils as planned due to the bad condition of the classrooms. Most of the pupils there are from poor ethnic minority groups.

On this occasion, Dantri/DTiNews Deputy editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh granted 10 scholarships for the school’s poor pupils.

Anh added that Dong Mang will be the newspaper’s 19th classroom project in the country and the bridge there will be the 15th that the newspaper has helped to build in remote areas.
