Woman struggles against illness after losing both children and husband
A woman in Bac Giang Province is in desperate need of financial support to help treat kidney problems.
"When I was seven months pregnant, my face and limbs became swollen. When I went to the hospital after coughing blood, the doctor said I had kidney failure," Lan said.
Lan's first child was born prematurely and died hours later. She still hoped to be a mother and followed the treatment carefully. But unfortunately, the second child was also born prematurely at seven months of pregnancy and died hours later. Her husband then divorced her and found a new family while Lan came to Hanoi for treatment.
"My father died 12 years ago. My mother is working for VND14,000 (60 US cents) an hour but she keeps having to go home to bring me to the hospital whenever I'm in pain," Lan said.
Their rented house has almost nothing but a bed, a wardrobe and a gas cooker. Lan said it was already good enough because sometimes they didn't earn enough money to pay their rent and have to go back to their hometown.

Lan doesn't have money for kidney dialysis
