Tet presents come to orphaned children
Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) President Tran Thanh Man visited and gave Tet presents to six abandoned children in Can Tho Province.
"I appreciate the monks' kindness for taking the children in. I hope the community will keep helping raise the children. I wish health and happiness will come to the monks and the children in the new year," Man said.
Monk Dieu Minh, head of Long An Pagoda, said, "The children lack parental love but they are loved by kind people, those at Dantri Newspaper and the authorities. We'll do our best to raise them and support their study."
Many children were abandoned at Long An Pagoda when they were only one or two days old. After their situation was published, readers have called and donated to the children. The children were given the middle name Nhan, as in "humanitarian", by the Dantri editor-in-chief during a work trip to the Mekong Delta.

The visit by VFF's president on January 28 was joined by lTran Thanh Can, chairman of Cai Rang District People's Council, Le Thanh Tam, chairman of Cai Rang People's Committee and some other local officials.
The the children who were abandoned by their parents are named by Dantri/Dtinews editor-in-chief Pham Huy Hoanand and now being taken care of at Long An Pagoda in Can Tho City. Nhan Hoa is the youngest child who is only five years old.
