Parents struggle to save ill son
A couple in Nghe An Province are in desperate need of financial support to save their small son from complex heart disease.

Lieu said due to lack of money, she couldn't go to doctors regularly while being pregnant.
"When Phi was born, we only thought that he looked pale because of cold weather. But three months later, it became warmer yet he kept turning purple, had breathing difficulties and cried often. We were shocked when doctors said he had complex heart disease and pneumonia," Lieu said.
The family borrowed VND30m (USD1,300) from the black market but it ran out after three months in the hospital. Lieu and her husband tried to find work around the hospital in Hanoi to better look after Phi. Their four older children have to stay home and take care of themselves. Sometimes, they had to look for wild vegetables to eat.
As of now, they have borrowed nearly VND100m.
Nguyen Du Tinh, head of Village 10, said he felt for the situation of Lieu's family and hoped that they would get help from the community since most of their belongings had been sold.
