Dantri classroom project inaugurated in Nghe An

A Dantri kindergarten project has been inaugurated in the northern central province of Nghe An.

The inaugurating ceremony on Monday saw the participation of representatives from local authorities, Dantri/DTiNews Online Newspaper, the Vietnam Fund for Learning Promotion and Dantri Newspaper and MITEC Vietnam, the project donor.

The project is new classrooms for Keng Du Commune Nursery School’s branch in Hoa Xuan Village situated near the Lao-Vietnam border.

Hoa Xuan nursery school site is part of Keng Du Commune Nursery School. All of the children there are from the Kho Mu ethnic group. The school only has one teacher who teaches and cooks for 23 children. The classrooms were seriously deteriorated.

In order to reach Hoa Xuan Village, travellers have to cross difficult mountain roads and it usually takes nearly one hour on a 15-km road to reach the destination.

Following the call from Dantri/DTiNews, Mitec Vietnam Company donated VND200 million (USD8,695) for the project which was started on December 10.

Vu Thi Ha from Mitec Vietnam Company said that she was really sympathetic with local children and teachers' hardships. She hoped the new classrooms would help to ease their difficulties partially.

On this occasion, the company offered gifts including cotton blankets, plastic chairs, bowls and warm clothes for Hoa Xuan nursery school site.

MITEC also provided a TV for a Keng Du border post. Meanwhile, Garco 10 JSC gave 30 warm clothes for pupils from Keng Du Primary School. Dantri/DTiNews offered scholarships totalling VND35.5 million for pupils of Keng Du Primary School.

Phan Van Thiet, head of Ky Son District’s Department of Education and Training expressed his great thanks to the newspaper and the donor.
