A team of more than 100 volunteers including representatives of KOTO and Pullman Hanoi together with KOTO staffs, trainees and volunteers visited Ta Van Chu commune in Lao Cai province with foods and winter provisions for local people.

On December 30, 2019, Winter Appeal 2019 served 2,000 freshly cooked bowls of Pho (traditional Vietnamese beef noodle) and presented 865 gifts to the local students from Ta Van Chu commune’s Kindergarten, Primary and Middle Schools. These gifts included school supplies, blankets and warm clothes.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, Giang Van Seo, said that they had received many great support from voluntary groups but this was the first time the students and local people had the chance to be served such freshly cooked and tasty bowls of Pho.

"We would like to send our sincere thanks to this good will of KOTO and other sponsors. Winter Appeal is indeed a meaningful event," he said.

According to KOTO’s Manager of Trainees & Alumni Services, Hoang Hanh, they were supported by a great team of staff, Alumni and volunteers who worked tirelessly for the event.

"Thanks also goes to the KOTO trainees from class 35 and 36 for their assistance in ensuring the program went to plan," Hanh said. "This event allows the trainees to be on the other side of giving, instead of being the receivers of support. We hope that in the future the feeling of enjoyment when giving gained from this experience will ensure that they continue to help the community into the future."
