Grandmother calls for help for grandson
A family in Phu Tho Province is calling for financial support to help treat their two ill children.
Anh's mother, Do Thi Kim Dinh, got married and gave birth to two sons. But her eldest child often has seizures while Anh has cerebral palsy. In late 2019, they divorced and Anh's mother returned to her parents' house with both of her sons. In order to support the family, she went to the city to find work.
After three weeks in the hospital, the money already ran out so De asked the doctors to let her take Anh home.
Dr Le Van Luan from Central Acupuncture Hospital said, "Anh has responded well to the treatment this time and he is able to sit up, hold things, express his emotion and be more aware of the surroundings. His condition will improve if he follows the treatment."
Truong To Quyen, deputy head of the hospital's social work office, said Anh was a regular patient but most of the time, the family was too poor to go to doctors' appointments.
"It has been a while since I saw them at the hospital. Everyone knows their situation and is really sad for him," she said.
