The four orphans are in desperate need of help

Two years ago, Ngan’s husband, Thach He, died of pulmonary tuberculosis. Since then, Ngan had to be the breadwinner.

With the subsidy of VND500,000 (USD21.73), Ngan had to work different kinds of jobs to earn money to support the family.

Early this year, Ngan used to faint and was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis. However, due to the family’s financial difficulties, she could not afford the treatment. For a short time, she lost up to 14 kilos to only 30 kilos.

Meanwhile, her six-year-old child, Trong Huu, has been living with heart problems since when he was born. He has never been taken to hospital for medical check-ups and treatment as the family is so poor.

Ngan’s parents are also very poor and now will face more difficulties to take care of the four children.

Ma My Ngoc, vice chairwoman of Hung Hoi Commune, said that Ngan’s family is among the poorest in the locality.

Ngan’s eldest child who is now 10 years old is likely to leave school early.
