Young man suffers from illnesses after losing all family members
A man who has heart and kidney disease in Quang Tri Province is in need of financial support after losing his parents and brother.
Nguyen Van Hieu, Thao's uncle, said just two days before Tet, he heard Thao's scream and ran to his house. Thao's mother had died during the night unnoticed. She suffered from heart disease but because of poverty, she couldn't go to the hospital. Thao's brother also died from heart disease six years ago and his father suddenly died one year later.
All of them died during or near Tet Holiday.
"I feel scared," Thao said. "Everyone has left. I also have illnesses too and I just don't know how long I have left."
According to Hieu, Thao was always slower than other children and he has weak health too. When Thao's mother was still alive, he often collected scraps to help his mother. However, a few years ago, Thao was diagnosed with heart failure and kidney failure.
Thao has four relatives but all of them are poor with their difficulties.
"It's hard to see how unfortunate they are. Thao can only depend on me now. I hope he will get help so that he can go to the hospital," Hieu said.
