Vy's both eyes have been removed due to retinoblastoma

After that, the little girl had to undergo a surgery to remove her left eye to prevent the cancel stems from attacking other organs.

Following the surgery, the treatment continued until May 2018.

However, in August 2019, Vy’s right eye also faced the same symptoms. A big tumour was then detected, resulting in necrosis.

Vy once again contracted retinoblastoma, therefore, she experienced a surgery for her right eye removal. She afterwards faced chemotherapy treatment until April 2020.

By late 2021, Mung met with a traffic accident, causing him injuries. My had to seek to borrow money from different sources to cover treatment for her husband.

At that time, Vy’s eye sockets became swollen again due to being attacked by cancer cells. She then continued using the chemotherapy treatment.

According to doctors, Vy will need more treatment.

To date, the couple has incurred an enormous debt. They also do not know where to borrow money for their daughter’s treatment.

Le Huu Tri, head of Village 5 in Duc Hue District, said Vy’s family was among the poorest in the locality. Every month, Vy receives a small disability benefit payment.
