The Hanoi Beer Premier League will feature 12 seven-a-side teams competing in a one-leg round robin format event.

It will be the first time a tournament for amateur players has been organised professionally in the capital and it is planned that the event will expand to the whole country next season.

The tournament is being supported by the Vietnam Football Federation, the Hanoi Football Federation and the city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In the hope of bringing home the title, some teams have acquired the services of professional footballers including V-League's Golden Ball winner Pham Thanh Luong (FC Hanel) and former national team members Dang Phuong Nam (FC Cuong Quoc) and Nguyen Tuan Thanh (FC Thang Long).

Fixtures will be played every Sunday afternoon, with the final match taking place on July 21 at Ha Noi Football Club's stadium in My Dinh. The champions will receive VND20 million (nearly US$1,000) and a trophy.

The top ten teams will progress to play a second season, while the two bottom sides will join a newly created First Division next years, along with 10 new teams yet to be selected.
