Vietnam readies for Asian Para Games
A Vietnam delegation will join 42 countries and territories participating in the second Asian Para Games scheduled for October 18-24 in Incheon, the Republic of Korea.
Athletes will compete in six events: track-and-field, swimming, weightlifting, badminton, table-tennis and bowling. It targets to win 6-9 gold medals and place in the top 15.
Hopeful faces to win gold medals are badminton player Pham Duc Trung, weightlifters Le Van Cong and Nguyen Binh An, swimmers Vo Thanh Tung, Nguyen Thanh Trung and Do Thanh Hai, and track-and-field athlete Cao Ngoc Hung.
In the first Asian Para Games in China, Vietnam came second among 41 participating nations with 3 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze medals.
