Northeast ethnic groups cultural festival to be held
The ninth Tourism, Sports and Culture Festival 2015 of ethnic groups in the northeast region will take place in Bac Kan province from September 10-12.

The event will see the participation of ten provinces in the northeast region - Bac Kan, Phu Tho, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh and Vinh Phuc.
A series of cultural activities, including performances of excerpts of outstanding ethnic group festivals, mass art performances, traditional ethnic clothing shows, an exhibition on cultural products and tourism and a photo exhibition on specific cultural identities in the region, will be organised, with the participation of thousands of artists from the provinces.
Additionally, sports and tourism activities will also be held, such as folk games, football matches and seminars on tourism development in the region.
According to Head of the Department of Ethnic Culture under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Hoang Duc Hau, the highlight of the event is an opening ceremony at an outdoor stage on September 10 at 8pm. The event’s closing ceremony is expected to be held on September 12.
The festival promises to offer a chance to promote and preserve the cultural identities of ethnic minority groups in the northeast region while contributing to developing the economy and improving the material and spiritual life of local residents.
