Grape and Wine Festival to be held in Ninh Thuan
A grape and wine festival will be held in the southern central province of Ninh Thuan late this month.

In a recent press meeting, the organising board, the Ninh Thuan Grape and Wine Festival 2019 will be held from April 26 to May 2 in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City and six districts of Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai, Ninh Son, Thuan Nam, Thuan Bac, and Bac Ai.
Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism Chau Thanh Hai, said that the festival would introduce grape and grape wine and some other specialties of Ninh Thuan at 300 stalls.
"The festival aims to give a chance for local grape farmers them to meet and exchange experience with scientists, experts and businesses in the field," Hai said.The official also added that many relating activities will be held during the week-long festival, including field-trips to grape farms, an industry-trade fair, performances of the ethnic minority groups in the area, a street carnival and beach sport events.
In 2012, Ninh Thuan’s grape varieties were granted geographical indication (GI) certification by the National Office of Intellectual Property.
Grapes are grown on nealy 1,300ha in the provicne, 80 percent of it red cardinal and the rest other varieties, and an annual output of 30,000 tonnes.
